Job Description

Rock City Digital is looking for an experienced Google Ads Manager to join our team and drive measurable results for our local service-based business clients. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of hands-on PPC experience and excels at campaign optimization, data analysis, and strategic decision-making. We are looking for someone who is data driven, has a passion for results, and finds joy in becoming masterful in their skillset.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Campaign Management – Create, manage, and optimize Google Ads campaigns across Search, Display, Performance Max, and more to maximize ROI for clients.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting – Analyze campaign performance, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights and regular reports to clients and internal teams.
  • Keyword & Bid Strategy – Conduct keyword research, manage negative keywords, and adjust bidding strategies to optimize CPC, CPA, and ROAS.
  • GTM & Conversion Tracking – Implement and maintain accurate tracking tags and conversion pixels using Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to ensure reliable reporting.
  • A/B Testing & Optimization – Design and run tests on ad copy, landing pages, and bidding strategies to continuously improve results.

Monday.com, Slack, Air.inc, Right Signature, Gmail, Google Meet, and all other programs within Google Office Suite

Preferred Experience

  • Google Tag Manager – Experience implementing and managing tracking tags, conversion pixels, and event tracking for accurate reporting

  • Google Ads Certifications – Current certifications in Google Ads Search, Display, or other relevant specializations

  • AI & Emerging Ad Tools – Eagerness to stay current with and leverage AI-driven advertising tools and strategies as the digital landscape evolves

  • Project Management & Collaboration Tools – Experience with platforms like Monday.com, Slack, and Google Workspace for organized communication and reporting

  • Landing Page Optimization – Understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) principles to help drive better campaign results

Here’s how our interview process will work:

We’ve streamlined things to just two rounds to be respectful of your time!

Round One

First round interviews will be group interviews held on March 2nd via Google Meet and will last around 30 minutes. This is where Kait will get to know a little bit more about you and your experience with Google Ads, and you’ll get to learn more about what the role actually looks like day-to-day. Remember, interviews go both way and we want to make sure this is a great fit for you, too!

Paid Skills Assessment

After the first round, we’ll send a homework assignment that doubles as a skills assessment. This helps us understand your working style and strategic approach. And yes, you read that right—you’ll be paid hourly for this work! We don’t believe in making people work for free, even during the interview process.

Round Two

Final round interviews will be with Johnathan (our Search Manager) and Sarah (our Account Executive). This is your chance to meet the people you’d be working with directly and ask any questions that have come up along the way. We may also do a quick live demo where you can walk us through your thought process on something—nothing too stressful, just a chance to see how you work!

Offer & Start Date

We plan to extend an offer by March 6th with a start date soon after. We’re moving quickly but want to make sure we find the right person for the team!

What are your core values?

It’s important for us to find a core value fit for our team because we expect greatness from anyone who works here!

What is your work schedule each week?

We work Monday – Thursday 8 – 5 pm and Friday 8 – 12 pm CST. There is flexibility in your schedule so if you need to go to a Doctors appointment, you don’t have to take PTO but you may need to make it up somewhere in the week.

What kind of clients do you work with?

We work with clients who own service based businesses with a special emphasis on home services and pest control. We do not work in e-commerce.

What is your PTO policy?

A new employee will get 14 days of PTO during their first year of employment and 20 days after the first full calendar year.

Are there any special perks?

We work a 4.5-day work week, offer an amazing PTO policy, have flexible schedules, and get to work from home. We also take off the week between Christmas & New Year’s Day.
